Door and window profiles, aluminum shells and mixed aluminum products often come with screws, steel cores, plastic sealing strips and coatings. The function of crushing is to reduce the volume and release accessories. The purity of the finished product also depends on the front-end disassembly and subsequent sorting.
Material characteristics
- Light iron sheets, aluminum products, copper-aluminum mixtures and briquettes have obvious differences in strength, thickness, shape and packing density.
- Long bars, wires and strips can easily become tangled, and closed containers, wetted parts and superhardware can present safety or equipment risks.
- Volume reduction, furnace front material and sorting material have different requirements on the degree of dissociation, discharge size and proportion of fine materials.
Key processing challenges
- Thin profiles are easy to bridge, and thick connectors can cause local impacts.
- If the iron parts are not fully released, it will be difficult to completely remove them with magnetic separation.
- Plastic seals and coatings can incorporate light components.
Equipment-selection criteria
- Check tools, axis systems, drives and permitted processing boundaries against maximum thickness, cross-section, piece weight and material grade.
- Determine whether to configure screening, magnetic separation, eddy current and manual quality inspection based on the volume reduction or sorting goals.
- Incorporate inspection of sealing parts, removal of super-hard foreign objects, fire protection and maintenance spaces into the entire line plan.
Typical process flow
The scrap aluminum first removes obvious steel parts and sealing parts, undergoes quantitative feeding, crushing and magnetic separation, and then controls impurities through screening, eddy current or manual quality inspection. The discharge size should match the downstream smelting or sorting requirements.
